Another excellent event in the books! It kicked off on Saturday Morning with a daring daylight assault on the German’s left flank. We were told the French had cleared wire but of course they didn’t.

After clearing the wire entanglements, the action was on. Heavy engagements lasted throughout the day till about 10am EST. Probably close to a 3 hour early morning action. The whole German Army was pushed out of it’s Trench line.

I was pretty proud that I eliminated 2 Germans with a grenade but at various points was cut down by a grenade, a machine gun, a pistol, and a trench club.

We had about a dozen guys come out for this event and it was fantastic! The weather was nice enough that the planes were able to come out.

The French were passing around a newspaper that encouraged people to come to their building and trade any of their French currency for real items. I ended up with a toothbrush and some toothpaste as well as a pencil.

There was a mass causality scenario that really put the Canadian Red Cross to work (twice!)

Saturday’s attack was launched from the French side and I was able to lob smoke grenades with a fellow Blue Ridge doughboy to help cover the advance –
